Spiced Halloween Maple Apple Crumble
Ingredients - serves 4
4 large Bramley apples
4 tbsp light soft brown sugar
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
120g plain flour
100g porridge oats
150g caster sugar
130g unsalted butter
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Method
To make this delicious Halloween crumble, preheat your oven to 170° C (fan). Now peel, core and chunk the apples and place in a large ovenproof dish. Sprinkle over the sugar, maple syrup and cinnamon and mix well. Now place the butter and flour into a bowl and use your fingers to rub the butter into the flour.
Add the oats, sugar and cinnamon and mix together. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples and then bake for thirty to thirty-five minutes until golden brown and bubbling. Serve with custard for a delicious autumnal pudding.
