Go chemical and peat free

Saving the world one choice at a time

We're facing a climate and nature crisis, with so much of our beloved wildlife in decline - particularly insects. It might seem like a huge battle to turn things around, but there are steps we can all take to help turn the tide. This includes in our gardens, allotments, balconies and even window plants!

By choosing peat-free composts, and not buying plants grown with peat, we can help stop the destruction of peatland habitats that lock away carbon and provide a home to rare plants and animals. By avoiding pesticides, weedkillers and other chemicals, we can encourage threatened insects to make a comeback. We've pulled together lots of advice to help get you started!
