Businesses and schools coming together for nature

Inspired by His Majesty The King, Coronation Gardens for Food and Nature is offering businesses across the UK a way to support the next generation, bringing tangible benefits to children, wildlife and society.

Children and young people have become increasingly disconnected from the natural world, and from how their food is produced, with huge inequalities in both access to nature and to good, healthy food.

And yet research has shown that children are happier, healthier and more motivated at school if they have regular contact with nature.

We’ve created lots of information resources for schools, consulting with our network of primary and secondary school teachers, but many of them tell us they need a bit more help to get going.

By donating to the fund, businesses will contribute towards childrens' health, wellbeing and connection with nature. Depending on the scale of your donation, you may receive a certificate, updates and statistics to share with your stakeholders and in your reporting, a feature on our website and an invitation to join us in publicity. Contact us for more information about how we can work together. If your business is seeking innovative news ways to develop your CSR/ESG work, this could be a great fit for your strategy.

The Coronation Gardens Schools' Fund to enable schools to access small grants for the basics they need to create and maintain a healthy wildlife-friendly space.

A few hundred pounds could help set up a school that has only concrete outside space with enough planters, soil, tools and seeds for one class of 30 children to grow carrots and sunflowers.  We’re aiming to raise an initial £300,000, which would enable hundreds of schools to get their Coronation Garden off to a flying start and connect in with others in the community to help.

If we exceed our fundraising target, all funds raised above this amount will also go into the fund. If we don't reach our target, a smaller fund will still be setup using all funds raised.  If for whatever reason funds raised cannot be committed to a schools’ fund, The Wildlife Trusts will spend money raised on their work to improve children and young people's access to and engagement with nature.
